CBSE has released JEE Main 2018 Exam dates. The exam will be held on 08th April 2018 (Offline mode) and 15th & 16th April 2018 (offline mode). JEE Main 2018 Slot booking is available when filling JEE Main Application form. JEE Main Application process started from 01st December 2017 and has ended on 1st January 2018. CBSE conducts this exam for admission into various courses (B.E/B.Tech and B.Plan/B.Arch) offered by IIITs, NITs and CFTs. CBSE is the conducting body of JEE Main Examination.

JEE Main 2018 Slot booking

Earlier, there was no facility for slot booking for JEE Main. For 2018, CBSE has provided the slot booking process to book the online exam slot. The slot can be chosen only for the online mode of examination after paying the application fee.

The slot booking process had started from 01st December 2017 for those who are applying for JEE Main Online examination. This procedure is based on first come first serve basis and the facility is only for Paper I (i.e. B.E/B.Tech).

JEE Main 2018 Slot Booking

If a candidate has filled wrong details in the JEE Main Application form or if he/she sits in more than one exam slot, then it will lead to the failure of their candidature. The candidate will be responsible for it in this case. The conducting body has full authority to cancel their candidature.


As the procedure is based on first come first serve basis for the online examination, but due to some reason they are not able to book their exam slots, then the seat will be allotted to other candidates who fall into the first come first serve basis.


This is only one chance provided to the candidates, once you select the exam date and time for the online examination you will not be able to change it furthermore.


Note: “Result will be declared on 30th April 2018. CBSE will conduct the online exam (Computer Based) in foreign countries i.e. Colombo, Dhaka, Kathmandu, Singapore, Bahrain, Dubai, Muscat, Riyadh, Qatar, Sharjah and Dhaka on 15th April 2018.”

How to book exam slot?

Here we have listed the detailed information on how you can select the JEE Main 2018 Slot booking for online examination.

  1. Go to official website. (
  2. Click on “Apply for JEE Main 2018” button.
  3. Read the instructions carefully.
  4. Fill the JEE Main Application Form.
  5. Select your choice for exam mode.
  6. Book your exam date & time slot.
  7. The time and date preferences are according to you.
  8. Once you have completed these steps, go for next step in the application form process.
  9. For future communication purpose, take a copy of the printout of your application form.


Here is an important news for the candidates whose roll number has not been allotted yet. There is an important change in JEE Main 2018 Exam that from the year 2017, it is not mandatory to fill 12th board roll number in JEE Main 2018 Application form.  


In JEE Main rank calculation, no weightage will be given to the class 12th marks as announced by CBSE. This is the main reason why CBSE has decided not to ask for 12th board roll no. Candidates who crack JEE Main exam will have to appear for the counselling. They must show their exam mark sheet with 75% of marks to the counselling conducting authority for admission into the IITs, NITs and CFTs.
