JoSAA Eligibility Criteria for IITs, NITs, and GFTIs

The eligibility criteria defined by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) guides you about the required qualifications and conditions to be fulfilled for counselling and allocation of seats at various IITs, NITs and other institutions. You must carefully check the eligibility criteria defined by JoSAA 2018 before registering for the counselling. Those candidates who do not fulfil the eligible criteria must not register themselves for JoSAA 2018, so as to avoid the late stage rejections. Note that just fulfilling the JoSAA eligibility never guarantees you an admission to the mentioned institutes.

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria for General JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling

To be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2018 counselling, you need to successfully qualify the JEE Advanced 2018. Additionally, you must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in class 12th. The SC, ST and PwD category candidates need to secure at least 65% aggregate marks in class 12th.

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling for Preparatory Courses at IITs

To be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2018 counselling for the preparatory courses at various IITs, you need to score the required cut off marks in the JEE Advanced 2018 examination.

Additionally, you must have secured at least 65% aggregate marks in class 12th. Note that the admissions to the preparatory courses at various IITs are available only for the SC, ST and PwD category candidates.

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2018 – Paper I Counselling (For B.Tech. Courses)

To be eligible for the JEE Main 2018 – Paper I counselling, you need to have scored the required cut off marks in the Paper – I of the JEE Main 2018 examination. Additionally, you must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in class 12th with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects – Chemistry, Biotechnology or Biology.

The SC, ST and PwD category candidates need to secure at least 65% aggregate marks in class 12th with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects – Chemistry, Biotechnology or Biology.

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2018 – Paper II (For B.Arch. Courses)

To be eligible for the JEE Main 2018 – Paper II counselling, you need to qualify the Paper – II of the JEE Main 2018 examination. Additionally, you must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in class 12th with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

The SC, ST and PwD category candidates need to secure at least 65% aggregate marks in class 12th with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

Note that before applying for the counselling of any course, you must check if there is any restriction for the applied course. JoSAA specifies some predefined restrictions for some courses that the candidates need to go through before applying.

The candidates fulfilling the above mentioned eligibility criteria will be able to go through the counselling procedure for getting admissions to 97 participating institutes. This counselling will be carried out in seven rounds. Successful candidates will be offered admissions to around 36268 seats in the participating institutes of JoSAA 2018.

The JoSAA 2018 registration will start in the online mode from the third week of June 2018.
