JEE Main Exam Pattern is such that question paper is designed to test the knowledge of the candidate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
JEE Main Exam Pattern 2018 comprises of 2 papers, paper 1 for admission to B.Tech courses and paper 2 for admission to architecture courses.
Joint Engineering Entrance (JEE) Main 2018 will be conducted by CBSE in April 2018 for admission to engineering courses (B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch) in the most reputed engineering institutes of the country like as NITs, ISM, and other prestigious institutes. For 2018 admissions, JEE Main exam notifications will be released by November 2017 and candidates can start filling the application forms from first week of December 2017. From 2017 onwards, it is mandatory for candidates to give their Aadhar card number on the application forms.
So far, JEE Main is conducted once a year in the month of April but talks are going on for conducting the exam multiple times in a year. This is both an online and offline mode of examination conducted by central board of secondary education. The practice of two tier JEE exam will continue in 2018 in which all candidates who clear JEE Main are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced examination to get admission in the IITs. Joint counseling for IITs and NITs will be continued and from 2018, board marks will not be counted for giving rankings.

JEE Main Exam Pattern in Detail
Let us now know about JEE Main Exam Pattern in detail. There will be two papers for JEE Main 2018. Paper 1 is conducted for candidates opting for BE/B.Tech engineering courses. Paper 2 is conducted for candidates opting for Architecture courses (B. Arch. /B. Planning). Aspirants can apply for both the papers. Paper 1 is objective type multiple choice questions comprising 3 subjects Physics, Chemistry and Maths. There will be altogether 90 questions. Paper 2 is both objective and subjective which consists of Mathematics test, aptitude test and drawing test. There will be altogether 82 questions. The test duration for each paper is 3 years.

Important Instructions for Preparing JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern
- First of all, stay healthy physically and mentally and work towards your goal with a positive state of mind.
- Prepare a time table for study and follow it strictly.
- Prepare for the exam as per the JEE Main 2018 syllabus
- Prepare for mock tests.
- Solve the model papers and sample questions within certain time period.
- Once you get your OMR sheet, fill in your name, roll number, application number correctly
- Read the entire question paper carefully and start solving the easy questions first.
- Time management is very essential.
- Give one answer for each question. Do not mark 2 answers for a question. It will be considered invalid.
- Mark the OMR sheets clearly.
- Take extra pencils and pens with you.
- For drawing test, carry your own pencil, eraser, geometry box.
